NEW TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS

09/05:

LINSEED

The 2003-crop Linseed had inferior Iodine Values (IV) and resulted in Standoils with an higher Acid Value (AV). For this reason, we had to issue the 02/04 edition of our technical datasheets. With the 2003-crop already followed by the 2004-crop (with exceptional high IV's) and with a good outlook on the 2005-crop quality, this is no longer an issue and we are back to normal IV's.

PRODUCTION EQUIPMENT and PROCEDURES

Continuous efforts to improve our production equipment and procedures allow us to further improve the quality of our Standoils. The colour of most of our Standoils has improved against the edition 04/99 and on the Acid Value to, we have made important progress. We are confident that this will strengthen our position as European leader in the production of Standoil.

SPECIFICATIONS and TYPICAL DATA

We have generalised the system of both specifications and typical data on the TDS.

Specifications are parameters that we guarantee. They are either purposely aimed for (viscosity of a Standoil, colour and AV of Refined Linseedoil, ...) or closely related to the production equipment, procedures, general quality level, ... (AV and colour of a Standoil or a Boiled oil, ...). These parameters are continuously monitored during the production process and as our customer, you are informed on the results through the Certificate of Analysis.
Typical data are parameters that are either inherent to the product (refraction index of Raw Linseedoil, density of Refined Linseedoil, ...) or the processing (saponification value of a Standoil, IV of a Boiled Linseedoil, ...). They are routinely analysed but they do not appear on the CofA.

For obvious reasons of continuity and conformity, all TDS have been upgraded to the edition 09/05. For those products where the individual data do not change (Raw, Refined and Boiled Linseedoils), only the layout has changed.
